Dr. Mohler offers biblical commentary on the issues of our day on the website AlbertMohler.com and in his daily podcast The Briefing . Here's a preview of what Dr. Mohler will be addressing next month at our 2014 West Coast Conference . Sexual Devolution The sexual revolution of the 1960s has been portrayed as a time of sexual liberation . In reality, this wholesale embrace of moral relativism resulted in a culture that is enslaved to its sexual lusts. Like all revolutions, it has left destruction in its wake. In this session, Dr. Albert Mohler will examine some of the consequences of the sexual revolution, including rampant divorce and the destruction of families, gender confusion, acceptance of homosexuali

Sinclair Ferguson , Robert Godfrey , Steven Lawson, Albert Mohler , and R.C.Sproul were asked the following questions:  How do US army chaplains stay faithful to God and His truth, and provide the gospel to same-sex couples? How do they stay faithful amidst the persecution? (00:13)  I have a son who has entered into a homosexual lifestyle. How do I handle this, how do I act, what do I say? (02:58 )  I have many Christian friends who are libertarians and say the state should not be involved in marriage at all. Is this a correct position? (14:13)  I have a relative who is constantly trying to say that if I try to say something is false or sinful I am “condemning” the person or the thing and am not being loving. What do I say in response? (23:13)  Is personal peace and affluence the biggest impediment to Christian witness? (28:37)  How do I explain the reality of sin? (29:41)  Since there is one God, why is it that we have so many different views and denominations? (30:27)  W

Mohler & Keller on Evolution

Image
English: Al Mohler, President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Author: Carl Truemen. It is encouraging to see that Dr. Albert Mohler is one of the two leaders of the TGC seminar on Adam (the other being Dr. Bryan Chapell ). Kudos to TGC for a very good choice.   Dr. Mohler has made it clear that evolution is not simply wrong but has gone so far as to describe it as a myth which is 'not only incompatible with any historical affirmation of Genesis , but ... also with the claim that all humanity is descended from Adam and the claim that in Adam all humanity fell into sin and guilt.'   He has also stated that '[t]he Bible 's account of the Fall and its consequences is utterly incompatible with evolutionary theory .  The third chapter of Genesis is as problematic for evolutionary theory as the first two.'  In other words, he thinks that evolution excludes the biblical view of an historical Adam and therefore of original sin.  I

'The Conviction to Lead' by Albert Mohler

Image
Every leader wants to lead better. Much has been written on leadership and yet, as Albert Mohler proves in The Conviction to Lead , there is still more. He starts the book with “My goal is to change the way you think about leadership. I do not aim merely to add one more voice to the conversation; I want to fundamentally change the way leadership is understood and practiced.”  Mohler surveys the vast leadership industry and points out that in all the useful things that have been said about leadership, the central problem “is a lack of attention to what leaders believe and why this is central.” His burden is “to redefine Christian leadership so that it is inseparable from passionately held beliefs, and to motivate those who are deeply committed to truth to be ready for leadership. I want to see a generation arise that is simultaneously leading with conviction and driven by the conviction to lead. The generation that accomplishes this will set the world on fire.” Mohler advocates i

Albert Mohler on 'Christians need to think more'

Image via Wikipedia Christians need to unapologetically think about thinking Most human beings never take the time to think about thinking. The Christian, however, is called to be different: we must perpetually and unapologetically think about thinking. This need is essential because how we think affects how we act. A Christian's faithfullness depends upon them thinking faithfully. In addition, Christians are called to understand not only how  they  think, but also the mind of the age. As we desperately seek to communicate the gospel to our age, we need to have an understanding of how they think. The knowledge crisis is ancient The crisis in how man thinks isn't new. Genesis 3 comes not only with cosmic consequences, but brought about a massive change in human thinking. Dr. Mohler read and spoke on Romans 1:18-32 and commented that all humans are involved in a "conspiracy," a conspiracy to suppress the truth. As Christians, we need to recognize that we are only s
