Christ was sinless

Peter's Denial by Rembrandt, 1660. Jesus is shown in the upper right hand corner, his hands bound behind him, turning to look at Peter. This means not only that he never disobeyed his Father but that he loved God ’s law and found wholehearted joy in keeping it.  In fallen human beings, there is always some reluctance to obey God, and sometimes resentment amounting to hatred at the claims he makes on us (Rom. 8:7). But Jesus’ moral nature was unfallen, as was Adam’s prior to his sin, and in Jesus there was no prior inclination away from God for Satan to play on, as there is in us. Jesus loved his Father and his Father’s will with all his heart, mind, soul, and strength. Hebrews 4:15 says that Jesus was “tempted in every way, just as we are ...

The Resurrection

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus . LUKE 24:1–3 Jesus’ resurrection , which was a divine act involving all three Persons of the Godhead (John 10:17–18; Acts 13:30–35; Rom. 1:4), was not just a resuscitation of the ruined physical frame that was taken down from the cross for burial.  It was, rather, a transformation of Jesus’ humanity that enabled him to appear, vanish, and move unseen from one location to another (Luke 24:31, 36). It was the creative renewing of his original body, the body that is now fully glorified and deathless (Phil. 3:21; Heb. 7:16, 24).  The Son of God in heaven still lives in and through th...

Why are many Christian Ministries suing US Health Department?

Image
English: Hobby Lobby store in Stow, Ohio (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Wheaton Logo (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Tyndale House Publishers won a temporary injunction against the Affordable Care Act 's (ACA) contraceptive mandate Friday, convincing the D.C. Federal District Court that the requirement violated its religious freedom. The injunction , which Judge Reggie Walton said he granted because the Bible and Christian book publisher self-funds its insurance , is temporary . However, it raises hope of legal victory for more than 110 hospitals, schools, and corporations that have filed lawsuits against the federal government over the healthcare law . (Catholic organizations have protested the law's requirement that insurance cover contraceptives; evangelical plaintiffs have more narrowly objected to the list of contraceptives that must be covered, including "emergency contraceptives" that may inhibit uterine implantation.) Early lawsuits against the healthcar...
