He was cancelled

Five years ago, the Oxford City Council in England cancelled me from giving an academic lecture on transgenderism, complaining that it breached the city’s diversity policy. The organizers had timed my address to coincide with Oxford University’s Hilary Term so students could attend; at my lecture, they would hear an alternative to the dogmas of intersectionality they usually encounter in university courses. My lecture was titled: “Feminism Was Women’s Great Enemy — Until Transgenderism Came Along.” That alone was guaranteed to trigger feminists and transgender people in the city of dreaming spires. So, last week, when I saw that Paris City Hall had cancelled two feminists for their book Transmania: enquête sur les dérives de l’idéologie transgenre (Transmania: An Investigation into the Abuses of Transgender Ideology), I felt a rare sense of solidarity with the sisterhood and asked the authors to send me a copy of their 400-page bombshell book. The Kafkaesque World of Transmania Transge

United Methodist Repeals Gay Ban

Image
On May 1, the United Methodist Church repealed several anti-LGBTQ rules, including lifting its ban on LGBTQ clergy and same-sex weddings. The issue has been so divisive that the part of the Methodist Church that opposes it has formed an entirely new denomination called the Global Methodist Church. Why is there so much confusion over this issue?  I believe the answer lies in presenting a counterfeit gospel that has robbed people of the transformative message of the true Gospel of the Kingdom. Having lived for years as a lesbian myself, I can testify to how crucial it is that those bound in a gay lifestyle know there is freedom and transformation in Jesus Christ. Any other message leaves a person enslaved to his or her body, looking to their flesh to tell them who he or she is. But the transformational rebirth event allows us to teach our Father who he created us to be. Kindness That Isn’t Kind In John 3, Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot

Lost and Confused Z generation

Image
“Nearly 30% of Gen Z women identify as LGBTQ, Gallup survey finds,” cheered the  NBC headline  Wednesday. NBC ran an  almost identical headline  about another survey in January. Our first thought was that taking 30% of women out of human reproduction would have devastating consequences for our nation. Our society can’t survive if male/female couples don’t reproduce. Our culture will collapse as traditional nuclear families are destroyed. It’s almost as if some people think that’s the point and the goal. To be sure, virtually the only reason  30%  of young women identify this way is that “LGBTQ+” is a social contagion. There is  no more celebrated group  of people on the planet than those who are confused about what gender they are or what sex they’re attracted to. Oh, they pretend to be oppressed, but for nearly the entire year, the national calendar is full of  days of recognition and celebration  for the Rainbow Cult. Even Joe Biden’s White House is  decked out in garish colors  to s

Oldest Lie in the Book: ‘You Will Be like God’

Image
Thanks to Carl Trueman’s bestsellers The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self and Strange New World, Christians are in a far better place to understand this bizarre cultural moment. How did we get to a place where humans with XY chromosomes—otherwise known as males—have risen to dominance in female sports, won acclaim as one of USA Today’s Women of the Year, and been hosted by the Smithsonian to perform interactive drag shows for young children? Trueman does a stellar job retracing the steps of Rousseau, Nietzsche, Marx, and other thought leaders, through the sexual revolution, and up to our day. His analysis is spot on, so far as it goes. But what if there’s a far more ancient origin to the expressive individualism trending in our day? (Full disclosure: I had an on-air discussion with Trueman suggesting this very thesis, and he heartily agreed.) Maker’s Knowledge In Genesis 3 we behold the “Tree of Knowledge.” The serpent tempts humanity’s first couple with a pitch to be “like God, kno

Don't believe Christ's enemy

Some people are bilingual, meaning they have a native language that they are most adept in, as well as an additional language that they are functional in. For Satan, his native language is lying. Jesus says to some liars in John 8:44, “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires...there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” When it comes to our sin and condemnation, there are two ways that Satan condemns:   1. Satan tells the unbeliever they are not condemned. Satan tells people to be proud of things they should repent of, and that God loves and approves of whatever they do, so that the death of Jesus for their sin, and their repentance of that sin, is unnecessary because they aren’t really sinners. Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” In our world toda

Scientists caught telling half truths

Image
Yesterday I watched the first episode of a new scientific documentary series on cosmology called “The Great Acceleration” and was shocked at the bald-faced lies that were presented to prop up an atheistic view of the universe. At one point, the narrator, Dr. Shalin Naik, said, “ Planets like our own are everywhere.”  Shortly after, Dr. Brad Tucker, an astrophysicist at the Australian National University, boldly proclaimed, “We are not unique. Kepler [a space telescope launched in 2009] told us that there are 20 billion planets like Earth in our galaxy alone.”  Really? 20 billion Earth-like planets in our galaxy! Before I explain why atheistic scientists are so keen to paint Earth as unremarkable and common, let me first reveal how shocking and blatant this lie is, by pointing you to the facts.  Because the FACT is that scientists have not yet discovered a SINGLE planet that is even REMOTELY similar to Earth. As of 24 August 2020, scientists have discovered a total of 4,201 confirmed ex

Stupid Myths about Christianity

Image
Here are a few, easily-debunked myths concerning Christianity. Myth #1: “The Bible has been translated and edited so many times, we don’t know what it originally said.” This is probably the most common myth out there. And despite the deluge of data out there demonstrating its falsehood, it still makes its way into a serious conversation, even in the name of academia. This myth assumes a few errors concerning the inspiration, transmission, and preservation of the biblical text. First, it assumes that with the passing of time, we have lost and/or destroyed the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts of the Bible.  Second, it assumes that translators have been indifferent and careless towards the preservation of texts from which they translated.  Third, it assumes that we possess few ancient Greek and Hebrew manuscripts.  Finally, it assumes that we do not possess manuscripts close to the time that the originals were given. Now, the manuscripts of the biblical te

If God deludes people who already reject the truth, how exactly does this happen?

It’s never morally right to deceive with malicious intent. Exodus  20:16  reads, “ You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor ,” and so you should never provide false legal testimony against your countrymen. It hurts society and dishonors God . But what about hiding someone’s surprise birthday party? What about pretending Santa is real? What about feints in warfare (2 Sam  2:22 –25)? What about protecting someone from a murderous mob, that is, to hide a Jewish person from the SS in WWII Europe? Is it ever right to mislead another person? Added to this, is it a lie to be wrong?  In other words, if you give directions and say “turn left” but you should actually turn right; Did you lie? In this case, we use the category of mistake. But this opens up an interesting possibility: You can speak an untruth (go left) that misleads someone (they go to the wrong location) and yet not be a liar or a sinner. You just made a mistake. So, are there other occasions w

God is not a liar

The message heard from Christ, now declared, is that God is light. The source whence all light, whether it be physical, or moral or spiritual, comes; the Enlightener of the universe. The term denotes luminous clearness, the free and benevolent source from whence flow light, intelligence, purity and blessing, absolutely free from alien intermixture, since in him there is no darkness at all. Light represents truth, knowledge and holiness. Darkness represents ignorance, error, falsehood and sin. 6. If we say … and walk in darkness. To claim a fellowship with him who is Light and to walk in the darkness of error, of ignorance, and of sinfulness are utterly inconsistent. Do not the truth. He who obeys not the truth walks in darkness. 7. But if we walk in the light. We walk in the light by following Christ, the Light of the world. We have fellowship. All who are walking in the light have the common life. The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Cleansed by the blood
